Almost Done!

Hey all! The Tucson Invitational Games is almost done!! 5 days and counting. We are all excited about the amount of press we got this year and we are hoping that next year will be the same or better! Micah is doing great. We had a few mishaps this month but nothing too crazy. He got bit and pinched at school this month and 1 day he retaliated with some pushing...thank goodness it only lasted a day, the teachers say that he hasn't done it since! Overall he is growing soooo fast. He also had a teething weekend, poor guy had 2 come in at the same time, and I have never gone through so many bibs and shirts in one day! Over the past 2 months he has been watching "Your Baby Can Read" and the results are amazing! His vocabulary is growing and he is able to recognize and remember certain animals, toys and other miscellaneous things. His favorite word right now is "outside"! We are very excited at what he will pick up next. He is still doing the tantrum bit every now and...

Update, Update...Read all about it!

Hello Everyone! Just wanted to give you an update on how Micah is doing, before we get into March and life as I know it disappears! The little guy just had his 15 month check up and is doing great. Other than an ear infection and what I call “Daycareitus” he is happy and healthy. He has been growing a lot this past month both physically and verbally. His favorite word is no (of course), and uses it so well and he even has different tones to match! I do give him credit for his tantrums and I feel as though he should get an Oscar for the all the drama he puts into it! He now runs around the house and his favorite thing to do at the moment is run as fast as he can right into the couch and as he bounces off he grunts as if he just got punched in the stomach. He thinks it’s hysterical, so he does this repeatedly! Of course Matt has him swinging a bat already and is teaching him to hit on a play tee, sometimes he forgets that the ball is his target and hits one of us instead but it’s progres...

MNO...

Just wanted to show you the first piece of art...well, lets not call it art...lets call it his 1st project at school. They are working on MNO this week for school, hence the MNO cheerios. I am sure he had fun with this one, considering it had to do with food! Chances are he got to explore his first run with Elmers Glue, which is always exciting...and fun to eat too ;)! ...If you just look at the cheerios and not the actual "MNO" I would say he's REALLY good at brail writing! :) Micah's MNO Cheerio Project

Visiting what we lost, but will never forget...

We are back! Back in WARM sunny Tucson :) Our visit to Minnesota was amazing and amazingly freezing, but we survived and we had a blast doing it. We decided to go in the dead of winter because we are ignorant southwesterners...kidding...it's because time has been going by so fast and parts of our family had yet to meet Micah...the thought of waiting another few months was killing us and it was time. Besides the rest of the family meeting Micah our second purpose was to go through Kathy's (Matt's Mom) belongings. You would have thought this would have been really hard, but surprisingly it was awesome! You never know a person unless you walk in their shoes...or in our case you just go through their stuff! It turns out, with no surprise she loved life and loved memories. I think most of the stuff that came home was Matt's things! She saved EVERYTHING that had to do with Matt, it was awesome! Everything from his first home run ball to his grade school corny "Ode to my ...

Christmas 2008

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! For those of you who are in "cold country" yikes! We hope you are staying as warm as possible, we were FREEZING here, it got into the low 30's ;) Micah's holiday began early in the week by spending time with his cousin Philip who is from St. Louis! They got to play together, well they played by themselves, they just sat next to each other. If they weren't playing with their own toy they were trying to take each others away...Micah was doing a lot of the taking! We spent Christmas Eve with the Tiggas side of the family with a huge breakfast and a lazy movie day. Christmas day was spent with the Machain family (all 50+ of us) :) By the time Christmas day came around Micah wasn't the happiest of all boys, he was a little on the tired-out side (who am I kidding he was exhausted and cranky)! He is getting better at opening presents, he even played with the actual toys not just the box they came in. His favorite toy this go...

Batter up!

So clearly the bat is way too big for him right now…well, and it’s pink! Every chance he gets he loves swinging it around, or just walking with it as if it were guiding him. So it looks like he will be a Major Leaguer or a professional blind man…that can see ;) Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!
