Weekend = Playtime

This weekend was all about the kiddos (then again, when isn't it?) Since Mom has been working in Marana we have been doing more things up that way... for those of you who don't know "Marana" it's just another town about 20 min north of Tucson. We did the Pumpkin Patch last weekend up there, and this weekend we celebrated "Founder's Day". They had the cutest little carnival! Picture carnival rides, games, ice cream, face painting, local bands, FOOD...all on a smaller scale. It was also a BIG day for Micah... He has never liked being tossed in the air, refuses to get on Matt's shoulders and when he sees marry-go-rounds, he shakes his head and turns the other way; he's not much for thrill! So we were PUMPED when he wanted to ride all the rides! I also have been wanting to take them to the Children's Museum.  The Museum had Micah at "hello"... he saw the dinosaur and it was love at first sight.  Kapri was just happy to run ...

!pumpkins!

I wanted to see how many times I could say pumpkin...pumpkin.

The Big Apple

{deep breath}… We did it, we made it, and we are still alive to talk about it… We made it to and from New York City with our sanity in hand! Actually we got back on the 11th of October but it has taken me a few weeks to recover from the trip, I needed a little space between me and NYC, and now that I am feeling whole again I am ready to revisit our trip. When Matt and I were invited to my college teammates wedding in NYC there was NO WAY I was missing it. For one, she’s amazing and I was soooo pumped for her, and 2… it’s NYC! My only discrepancy was to take the kids or to leave them. Well when we asked my parents if they would be willing to take them while we were away, it turned into “sure we will watch them… in NYC!” So there it was the making of a weeklong family trip to the big apple. For those of you who know how type “A” I am, I am sure you could imagine how overwhelmed I became in thinking of all the things we were going to do while we visited, so when mom and dad said we...

What a day...

Just had to share my day from yesterday... Morning was great, minus the IPhone alarm clock that is named "Wake Up, Really Wake up and get your running shoes on"... really I named it that thinking that it would give me motivation. Seeing on how I run in the afternoon every day, I don't think it works, but I'll keep trying. every day. every morning. Sigh. Work was short as I had 2 hitting lessons scheduled so I had to get home to get set up... then it started. I saw at the office that the clouds were building in the general direction of my house, so I thought maybe there would be a chance that the lesson's would have to be canceled (I don't usually wish for this but I really wanted to spend the evening with the kids). The lighting and thunder was ridiculous! So I started to make my way and saw this... Then it occurred to me "oh $#!T" I left the equipment out, so I put the medal to the pedal and raced home. (Don't worry Mom, I didn't break ...

Hand-Me-Downs

There is nothing like getting cool stuff for free! Thanks to a family friend who has 2 little ones that are a few years older than Micah and Kapri, we reap the benefit of their toys, books and other fun things. We just got this play house from them this past weekend and both kids LOVE it. Micah has already established that he is the captain of this vessel, which sometimes turns into an ice cream shop, and in that event we are to order from the side window...no exceptions! My little dare devil Kapri wants soooo badly to keep up with Micah so she is climbing and sliding (with a little help from us), she has the drunken sailor walk down so she fits in with Micah's ship. Hope everyone had a great non-labor, Labor Day! Captain Micah and now... an ice cream shop

BGSU reunion... in Michigan

We did it, we managed to have a little BGSU class reunion where we could ALL be there! Libby was nice enough to let us and our kiddos have a BBQ at her house in Michigan...(right now I am wishing I was still there in the 77 degree weather instead if this 103 degree weather!) The get together was awesome, catching up, talking about families and babies...it was just like old times on campus, we didn't skip a beat...except for the massive amount of kids running around. Instead of a tasty beverage in our hands we had babies, instead of wiping up beer off the floor it was spit-up...maybe a few things have changed! We are truly a family and I love that we all still keep in touch and really... I couldn't be more excited and proud to have these girls in my life. We have all seen eachother at our best, worst and we can always count on each other to be there when we need it (insert cheesy song from Full House here!). I can't wait till the next time, more babies??? Stay tuned!!! As...

CHUCK!

Chuck George, Chief Meteorologist at KOLD News 13, AKA my FAVORITE local Celebrity, in fact, my favorite celebrity period. I know I am weird for not having a national renowned actor or actress as a favorite, but I am just not that interested, I am a news junkie. Anyway back to Chuck… as a 30th birthday gift (to ease the pain of turning the big 3-OHHHH) my mom (with the help of a few others) set up a meet and greet with Chuck in studio. So yesterday Matt and I got the chance to see how Chuck prepares for the 5pm news hour. I was a bit star-struck when he came to the front to meet us, but that only lasted a few seconds as he was busy and needed to get stuff done (there was an earthquake in the Washington area). We followed him over to the studio where he does what he does best… maps, maps and more maps with plenty of fun facts thrown in the mix. We got to watch the news in studio and during the taping we got to go into what I believe is the control room where the “magic” happens. I reall...
