Kapri Turns 3

Trying to pull myself together while I re-read what I titled this post. When people tell me to "soak these days up" or "careful they grow up fast" or "watch out they will be out of the house soon" I REALLY listen and look at both kids while one jabbers about princess' and the other asking questions like "what is skin made of"... I am sure you can guess which one that is. We go through every struggle, every triumph and in this case every BIRTHday as if there is a test at the end of the day on what they did, how they reacted and what they said, and I NEED to ace it. In other words I CRAM whatever I can in and hope that it sticks with me forever. But no matter how many times I look at them and WISH so deeply that I can remember each day, each new facial expression, I can't....(gulp). So now that our little girl is turning 3, I can't help but hold her close, study her face and pray that she slows it down a notch so that we can breath h...

Update & the "Fire Hand Shaker" Kid

Updates... March - 3 letters…. T.I.G. wowwwza it was another crazy, stressful, fun, successful learning year.  This year markes the 12 th annual TIG and just like the 11 before it, we can never seem to prepare for the physical part of the month.  With us now hosting both baseball and softball Matt and I don’t see much of each other in March as we are both at our respective parks running around making coaches happy, telling umpires to hurry up, showing fans where to go and telling my staff that they are pretty darn awesome. I think if we were wearing pedometers we would clock about 10 miles a day! Needless to say I am never prepared for that.  As far as the kiddos go, it’s always a rough month for them due to the lack of family time we get and are used to the rest of the year. But as usual they were champs! April is what I call my “stop, catch my breath and make up for lost time with the kids” month. We started swimming lessons for both kids again, and they are do...

Micah-ism # 73 & Brotherly Love

After watching an episode of Doc McStuffin (Disney Jr.) this is the convo I had with Micah... Me: Micah are you going to be a doctor like Doc McStuffin when you grow up? Micah: Ughhhh (with rolling eyes) Mommmmm, I already told you, I am going to be a Paleontologist Deer Hunter! Me: Ohhh sorry, what's that consist of? Micah: (again with the eye roll...which has got to STOP!) It's a person who digs up dinosaur bones and shoots deer in the lungs at the same time. Me: Oh, okay? On another note... I was going through the pics on my phone and came across this gem! Is this what you call brotherly love? ...I probably should explain so that you don't think my son is actually choking Kapri...well he kinda is, but not really? I was asking them to sit on the steps to take a picture with their cousins and Kapri was not interested and wouldn't look at me, so Micah took it upon himself to make her look at me.

We Fell off the Wagon!

We sure did… well, I fell off the blog wagon and finally have a second to catch my breath and update! I last left you way back in November, and wow, it's January.  So much has happened since then, but to save you the agony of reading till your mouse can’t scroll anymore here is a quick one…errr not so quick. December: It was just as crazy as every December is.  Matt and I took our yearly work trip to the NFCA Convention to recruit more softball teams.  This year it was in Orlando so I was WAY PUMPED because my Uncle Mack lives out there and we got to spend a night catching up over an amazing meal he made for us (seriously the best pot roast I have EVER had). The trip went well, and I am hoping 2014 will reflect it (yeah, 2014…we recruit a full year in advance)! Now the bad part…After a quick trip to FL we came home to find that our office had been burglarized. Computers GONE, which means our 12 years of work were GONE.  We had to learn the hard way about ba...

A Whole Hand, Happy 5th Birthday Micah!

Micah-ism #583: “Kapri, when I was a baby I went to church and I went underwater and that’s when I started to grow.” You may be 5 today but your soul and wisdom are from an ancient world.  Your compassion seems to grow tenfold each year and your heart is bigger than any other 5 year old I know. You can lead a group of kids without saying a word and you always find the one friend who is just as quirky as you are to play with. Kapri adores you and if she can’t see you she is asking “where is Micah, where is he? I want him.” Although your compassion is far greater than anything you own, your fear at times gets the best of you. But don’t worry, your sister and your curiosity seems to encourage you and push you along while your courage gains the strength to move forward. Today I told you that I thanked God for you, tomorrow and forever we will be grateful. Some of your favorite things right now are… Dinosaurs The cartoon Jake and the Neverland Pirates Pizza Playing...

Relaxing, Gymnastics & Swimming Oh My!

Just a quick update on what we have been up too! After Matt and I came back from a RELAXING anniversary trip to Mexico I continued that with a 2 week break from hitting lessons. After thinking about it, I realized I hadn't taken a break in all the 5 years I have been doing lessons, so I figured 2 weeks was well deserved! I loved just being with the kids and using that extra time to...just be. I was "hit" hard this week, I am BOOKED all week with lessons... Can we rewind back to Mexico? As for the kiddos... We still have Kapri in gymnastics and she LOVES going.  Mom took her last week and I think it was a treat for both of them. We also have both kids in swimming due to Kapri, she posts a threat anytime we are around water. Her fearless nature and I have a love/hate relationship and this is the part I HATE! She will walk, run, jump in a pool without thinking twice (or even knowing) the consequence... So for my sanity and anxiety level to remain somewhat sane we have ta...

6 Years in the Making

What an adventure Matt and I have been on for the past 6 years. When I think about what we have lived over the (very fast) years I can’t be more thankful for what we have been handed…a committed, faithful, encouraging, patient (most of the time), supporting and most of all loving partner. Add 2 kids in there and we have a CRAZY, chaotic, AMAZING life. Praise you God. Here is how we celebrated (with NO crazy, chaotic BUT amazing kiddos)… A week full of pool, beach, Banana Mammas (my drink of choice) and lots of cuddling.  Zip Lined the Sierra Madres This last set of pictures is of our 2nd excursion. We took a tour that included snorkeling and kyaking but then they took us to a little village that you can ONLY reach by boat. The city of 900 or less was called Yelapa (pronounced Je-loppa). The people live so simple and eat off the land.  EVERYTHING has to be brought by boat so you can imagine how expensive it is for these people that have little to no money. ...
