Monsters!

The stage of the "boogie man" has arrived! For the past week or so Micah will randomly come running around the corner (usually from the playroom) crying and scared out of his mind because the "monster" is going to get him. We haven't ever talked about monsters in our house so it was safe for me to assume that daycare yet again has taught him something new. He is now also scared of loud noises. Whether it's the garbage truck coming, a school bus passing, or the neighbor revving up his motorcycle, he doesn't want any part of it. Yet he is obsessed with all 3 of those vehicles! Poor guy is stuck between a rock and hard place. Right now his favorite toys consist of his Lightning McQueen race car a fire truck and his ambulance. I thought maybe a trip to the fire station would spark his curiosity and if he heard the engine and and saw the lights maybe his fear of the loud noises would dissipate...here's to wishful thinking! TIG is just around the corner......

Happy Valentines Day

Happy (late) Valentine's Day all! We had a fun relaxing weekend spent with family and friends. Micah enjoyed the holiday at school with a Valentine's Day party in his classroom. He received cute little valentine's and lots of candy...that he will never see...at least until he is a little bit older! Although I broke down and let him have a mini treat bag of M&M's at our friends' little girls 3rd birthday party on Saturday. As soon as he tasted them it was like a whole new world of food was having a party in his mouth. He LOVED them...but what kid wouldn't! We tried to get him to say "Happy Valentine's Day" but whenever we said "Valentine's Day" he followed it with "PARTY!". Oh well there's always next year! 2 of my hitting lesson girls baked him some cookies for the holiday...he LOVED IT!

Everybodies...

So when Micah leaves, says thank you, says hello, says good night, says I love you, or ANYTHING else that would pertain to one or more people he says...everybodies... Example: K: Micah, what do you tell Daddy for helping you put your shoes on? M: Thank you everybodies! Or...when we say goodnight, as we get ready to leave the room he pops his head up and say's "good night everybodies". His vocabulary is not only growing but becoming more clear so that the average person knows what he is trying to say and they don't need the "mommy translator". His new thing (which I am not the most excited about, but it's kind of funny) is that when he gets mad at us for scolding him (for throwing a car I am sure) he knows he's not allowed to talk back so he will turn his head and mumble gibberish to himself along with a grunt or two. I will have to be prepared with a video camera so that I can catch it. Over all we are doing well, I am 11 weeks pregnant and still sic...
