Giving Thanks...Kapri's Surgery and Recovery.

You know that sinking, useless, hopeless feeling you get when one of your children are sick or hurt? Those feelings were almost more than I could take when I went to take Kapri in for her 15 month check up on Tuesday morning and ended up in surgery Tuesday night... A little over two weeks ago Kapri began to limp on her right leg and after noticing I kept an eye on it and it would differ day to day.  Sometimes it wasn't even noticeable as she would run back and forth from her brother or just in her play.  Other times is was so noticeable I found myself holding her more than I ever had (after she learned how to walk).  I decided that it was time to call the Dr. and see what his thoughts were.  So Friday (18th) we got her in. The typical questions like, did she fall, was she pushed at school, does she have a temp, etc.  Since NONE of these symptoms seemed to be the case he wanted me to just keep her on Motrin and since she had her 15 month check up on Tuesday (22nd) he felt like h

ROARing Good Time!

Micah FINALLY had his birthday party this past Saturday, I say finally because his actual birthday was last Monday (the 14th) and he couldn't understand why he had to wait SOOOO LONG (the 19th) for his party! I had a good time planning this one because it was his first "friends" party, and the theme was Dinosaurs (his newest obsession). I may have spent more time on the party favors that included iron on dinosaur shirts, candy, dinosaur cookies and a bunch of non-sense toys, than I did on the actual party. The cake was made by non-other than my mom, who did a FANASTIC job...as usual. Despite the windy day, the weather wasn't unbarable, and our backdrop for the party was a lake (I had his 1st birthday party here and I loved it soo much that I wanted to do it again). ...I also had a really fun time designing and making the invitations and shirts... it's a good money saver...so you can buy more non-sense toys to fill the favor bags with! 1,460 Best Days of My Life...Happy Birthday Son

Happy birthday Micah! Your 4 today and there are no words that can describe how thankful I am for you. Your sense of humor at 4 is mind boggling, and the way you love your sister melts my heart every day. You know more about dinosaurs at 4 than I ever will in my lifetime. I love that you copy how daddy, eats, drinks, sleeps and plays baseball. Thanks for being such a momma’s boy great kid. We love you! ...this will always be how I picture you sweet baby boy!

Park Day!

We took advantage of the cool, crisp fall weather!

This is what you get when you put a Cupcake in front of a Dinosaur...

Yup, she wasn't the happiest cupcake when asked to sit and pose for a photo with her Dino brother! After a few photo's (which NONE of them came out with a smile on her face) we headed out. Micah decided he wanted to be a dinosaur this year, specifically a Quetzalcoatlus (pretty much a pterodactyl), but became frustrated when people kept calling him a dragon, or some other random flying character, by the end of the night he just went with whatever people were calling him. I mean come on doesn't everyone know what a Quetzalcoatlus is?? ...I still can't even pronounce that darn dinosaur! Kapri was my little cupcake. She was too cute, and after getting through the horrific torture of taking pictures that her parents made her sit through, she was a happy camper being able to follow Micah... then it was dinner time and we had to immediately head home or the wrath of a hungry cupcake was going to come down upon us.
