He did it, the little man walks! Well come on it's not a leap but it's defiantly walking. This is how it went:
On the phone...
Matt: Hunny he took two steps
Kandice: WHAT?!?!!
Matt: He just took two steps by himself
Kandice: MATT you better tell him to stop until I get there, ARE YOU RECORDING THIS??
Matt: HAHA this is great he just did it again, but it was like 6 steps this time!
Kandice: DON'T LET HIM DO IT AGAIN UNTIL I GET THERE!
Yes, sadly that was me telling Matt to stop the growing and learning process until I can see it. But don't we all want to see our own creations (whatever they may be) take the first step? Well that was about a week ago and on Thanksgiving he learned to stand by himself, which was a huge task. He figured out that his head (which is in the upper 99% percentile) was too large and heavy to pick up so he in essence looked like a stink bug trying to pick himself up. Then he discovered the squat method. And now we have lift off! Cross your fingers but we have no major injuries to that upper 99% percentile head of his but I am not to optimistic on that one. I also couldn't help but realize that when children begin to walk they resemble a sumo wrestler, really! I think all they are missing is the facial hair. Picture this...Big belly that overlaps a white bottom garment, slowly and not so gracefully waddling one foot after another hoping that balance will remain stable until the next step and one hand in the air ready to take the fall, which begs the question, Baby learning to walk? Or Sumo Wrestler? Needless to say we are very excited for this milestone.
We also hope everyone had a grateful Thanksgiving and found time to GIVE thanks.
Wishing you all well...
