Wing Ding 2010, Western Nationals, Micah's 1st Big oucheee!

Wow what a crazy last few weeks!! I am JUST updating from the Wing Ding that happened 2 weeks ago because it's just been THAT busy! Let me start off by recapping what may be the funniest tradition we have created for our family and friends...and the yummiest! The 1st Annual Wing Ding!! It all started over a year ago when we went out with our Tia Lue to lunch and had some wings... we decided right there and then we should have a wing contest, and FINALLY 2 weeks ago we did, and it was a hit! I think our house was going to explode with all the people there but who cares we were surrounded by all of our family and friends and REALLY good wings. We set up the competition so that everybody had a team name and all contestants could enter up to 3 different wing flavors. We had 2 judges and everybody who wasn't participating in the competition just had to bring a pot luck dish to share with everyone. The winner received a trophy and 2nd and 3rd received a ribbon. I think we had enough food to feed a few army's! We also set up Micah's room to be the play area for all the other kids and we set up the jumping castle for them too, so Micah was in heaven with his cousins.

Our team name was the Kickin' Chickens and we came in 2nd place!! Matt still can't remember if he turned in the fried or grilled wings so we still aren't sure which one of our wing flavors won...oh well they were both good. I made us team shirts and encouraged other teams to do the same...they were all pretty awesome! Here are a few pictures of the party, and if you want to see the website I created just go to www.tigsports.com/wingding I haven't posted any pictures from the party, again because it's been CRAZY over here but I will be posting them in the next few days.

We took 2nd place...apparently Micah wanted 3rd?!

This was just the begining of the chaos... Yikes what a yummy mess! This was just HALF the wings entered into the contest!

After the big Wing Ding it was back to work with the second biggest event our company has undertaken which is the ASA 10B Western National Championship. It is a 10 and under girls fastpicth National Tournamnet that is still going on right now. It started on the 2nd and goes until the 8th. I have never seen so many 10 year olds in one place at one time. Anyway it's a great tournament that we have been lucky to host and it's almost over. It takes lots of work to put it on and we are exhausted!

And lastly (tired of reading?) Micah's first big oucheeee. Last Sunday when I sent Micah to take a nap I asked him if he wanted me to take a nap with him (which has happened LOTS these past few weekends because I am soooo tired), he said no, which was a surprise because he usually wants me too. So I walked out and JUST as I sat on the couch to relax I heard an awful "THUD" and then THE cry that you know it’s not just a little trip up or bump. I ran (no waddled) over to the bed and immediately saw what happened. The poor kid had blood (I felt like it was a gallon) coming out of his mouth. I rushed him over to the bathroom and started making him spit out the blood and then made him drink water and spit repeatedly. FINALLY when the blood was slowing down I could check to see what was going on. I was looking for a missing tooth or missing parts of his tongue. Luckily I found neither, but I did find that he bit both sides of his tongue and banged his bottom 4 front teeth so that they are now crooked. After it was all said and done I asked him "were you being a monkey and jumping on the bed?" and he replied in a cry "uhhh huh". Apparently jumping on the bed was way more fun than taking a nap...hence him not wanting me to lay down with him due to his hidden agenda to want to jump! Lesson Learned!

Other than that I have exactlty 2 weeks until we get to see our baby girl and I haven't even finished her room completly. Maybe because I think all she needs when she gets here is us, so I am not stressing too much about it. But I am excited to not be pregnant in this heat; YIKES did I underestimate this AZ heat.

Again thanks to all who participated in the Wing Ding! Love to all xoxo

Giving Thanks...Kapri's Surgery and Recovery.

You know that sinking, useless, hopeless feeling you get when one of your children are sick or hurt? Those feelings were almost more than I could take when I went to take Kapri in for her 15 month check up on Tuesday morning and ended up in surgery Tuesday night... A little over two weeks ago Kapri began to limp on her right leg and after noticing I kept an eye on it and it would differ day to day.  Sometimes it wasn't even noticeable as she would run back and forth from her brother or just in her play.  Other times is was so noticeable I found myself holding her more than I ever had (after she learned how to walk).  I decided that it was time to call the Dr. and see what his thoughts were.  So Friday (18th) we got her in. The typical questions like, did she fall, was she pushed at school, does she have a temp, etc.  Since NONE of these symptoms seemed to be the case he wanted me to just keep her on Motrin and since she had her 15 month check up on Tuesday (22nd) he felt like h

What a day...

Just had to share my day from yesterday... Morning was great, minus the IPhone alarm clock that is named "Wake Up, Really Wake up and get your running shoes on"... really I named it that thinking that it would give me motivation. Seeing on how I run in the afternoon every day, I don't think it works, but I'll keep trying. every day. every morning. Sigh. Work was short as I had 2 hitting lessons scheduled so I had to get home to get set up... then it started. I saw at the office that the clouds were building in the general direction of my house, so I thought maybe there would be a chance that the lesson's would have to be canceled (I don't usually wish for this but I really wanted to spend the evening with the kids). The lighting and thunder was ridiculous! So I started to make my way and saw this... Then it occurred to me "oh $#!T" I left the equipment out, so I put the medal to the pedal and raced home. (Don't worry Mom, I didn't break

The Big Apple

{deep breath}… We did it, we made it, and we are still alive to talk about it… We made it to and from New York City with our sanity in hand! Actually we got back on the 11th of October but it has taken me a few weeks to recover from the trip, I needed a little space between me and NYC, and now that I am feeling whole again I am ready to revisit our trip. When Matt and I were invited to my college teammates wedding in NYC there was NO WAY I was missing it. For one, she’s amazing and I was soooo pumped for her, and 2… it’s NYC! My only discrepancy was to take the kids or to leave them. Well when we asked my parents if they would be willing to take them while we were away, it turned into “sure we will watch them… in NYC!” So there it was the making of a weeklong family trip to the big apple. For those of you who know how type “A” I am, I am sure you could imagine how overwhelmed I became in thinking of all the things we were going to do while we visited, so when mom and dad said we
