We Made It!

This is a shot from the top of the brand new complex!
We made it! We just finished the 2012 Tucson invitational Games and we are finally getting back to our normal 11 month schedule. This year was another big success, and as usual we learn new things every year that will help us for the following years to come. We had over 75 softball teams and 30 baseball teams (BIG year for baseball). I think one of my favorite things about the T.I.G. is meeting and making friends with the new coaches or staff members that we work with. I think by the end of the month we all seem to long for our desk jobs. But we get through and we are always happy to get back to our normal life once it’s over.

Speaking of normal life, the kids managed pretty well this year too. It always seems to shock them when at the beginning of the month they wonder why both mom and dad aren’t dropping or picking them up from school, or why only one of us is putting them to bed and waking them up in the morning. They were such troopers. There were only a few times that I had walked around with a guilt trip when Micah would call in the morning and say “mom, I really miss you, where are you”… UGHHHHH heart BROKEN!

Even though the actual event is done we still have lots of work to do to wrap up the year, so it looks as though our get-a-way this year won’t come till June or July…so until then, back to the desk (no complaining here!).

Side note: Matt and I have been on a waiting list for just under a year to get Micah into a school that is not in our district. We got in! We took a tour a few weeks ago and then had orientation last week. We took Micah to the orientation and he was PUMPED. He will start the summer program there in June, so he was a bit disappointed that he had to wait sooooooooo long!

Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter to All!

Hello & Goodbye to Sum•mer

sum·mer 1 ˈsəmər/ noun 1 .  the warmest season of the year, in the northern hemisphere from June to August and in the southern hemisphere from December to February. I just wanted to give myself a second to really think about this thing called summer. Anyone else think this definition is just a little bit vague? It's that time of year where we get all excited to have ZERO schedule, endless electronics, the chance to travel and cram in all of the fun you planned for all year long. Then when this so called "summer" ends, you feel bamboozled, like someone just waved that 4th of July pie you went to that party to specifically eat, right in front of your face only to look...not eat. Like seriously, it was here, right in front of my face, and now... it's gone. Now, now we pack lunch every night, we get our homework in (which I don't even understand), we figure out which parent is going to be the taxi for the day, we actually have to ...

She Turned 7!

SEVEN, she did it again... who does she think she is trying to get another year older on us. In all seriousness, she is SEVEN. Like, what happened to 5 and 6? Let me tell you what 7 looks like on my little Pripri... Just a few things about this girl 1. Guess who her favorite person is...duh. Micah 2. She is soooo much more compassionate and caring than I could have ever imagined. 3. She might be 7, however her attitude screams teen! She is sensitive but oh so brave and she is never afraid to take on new adventures! 4. Her best friend is still, you guessed it, Maggie. 5. Right now she is playing softball (second season) and is having a ton of fun. Cheerleading is still on her brain, but for now, we will stick with this. 6. When she laughs, you can't help but laugh with her. Her laugh alone will make you light up. 7. Her favorite things include: Unicorns, Bear (her pink one), Unicorns, Mermaids, those fake glasses (see pic below), her American Girl Doll (pic above), Uni...

When I turned around... Micah turned 8.

For just a split second if I close my eyes real tight, I still picture the tired me holding the only months old crying you in the middle of the night and can remember the "I know this isn't forever, but please make it stop" feeling. I truly did want you to stop crying BUT I also knew that me nurturing for you like that, wasn't going to last long.... so I swayed a little more and embraced your little body with all of me. Then I turned around and you were 8. In 8 years we have discovered more and more about the person you will be, and I am so very proud of what we are about to see. So once again I share with you what your 8 looks like! 1. You are madly in love with your little brother and he knows it! 2. Baseball and ATA (Blue/Brown Belt) are your activities, and you are doing great at both... we might need to work a little harder at the whole catching thing. 3. We all LOVE the way you laugh out loud at ANYTHING remotely funny in a quiet movie theater, it's ex...
