Visiting what we lost, but will never forget...

We are back! Back in WARM sunny Tucson :) Our visit to Minnesota was amazing and amazingly freezing, but we survived and we had a blast doing it. We decided to go in the dead of winter because we are ignorant southwesterners...kidding...it's because time has been going by so fast and parts of our family had yet to meet Micah...the thought of waiting another few months was killing us and it was time.

Besides the rest of the family meeting Micah our second purpose was to go through Kathy's (Matt's Mom) belongings. You would have thought this would have been really hard, but surprisingly it was awesome! You never know a person unless you walk in their shoes...or in our case you just go through their stuff! It turns out, with no surprise she loved life and loved memories. I think most of the stuff that came home was Matt's things! She saved EVERYTHING that had to do with Matt, it was awesome! Everything from his first home run ball to his grade school corny "Ode to my Hockey pads" poem. In her final months she also took up knitting and she was in the process of knitting a pink hat for her grandaughter that we hope to have. We were able to take home some great pictures that will be an everlasting memory in Micah's life. We can't wait to put up pictures of her and show Micah that even though she is gone she is somehow everywhere he turns, and we will be grateful for what she left us!

We also got a chance to catch up with Matt's close friends who all have children now too! We had a blast at the Mall of America in the Underwater World as well as the Zoo. Yes the zoo is still open in below 0 weather...poor animals :) We can't thank the MN family enough for all their love!

We can't wait to go back...in the summer this next time ;)

Hello & Goodbye to Sum•mer

sum·mer 1 ˈsəmər/ noun 1 .  the warmest season of the year, in the northern hemisphere from June to August and in the southern hemisphere from December to February. I just wanted to give myself a second to really think about this thing called summer. Anyone else think this definition is just a little bit vague? It's that time of year where we get all excited to have ZERO schedule, endless electronics, the chance to travel and cram in all of the fun you planned for all year long. Then when this so called "summer" ends, you feel bamboozled, like someone just waved that 4th of July pie you went to that party to specifically eat, right in front of your face only to look...not eat. Like seriously, it was here, right in front of my face, and now... it's gone. Now, now we pack lunch every night, we get our homework in (which I don't even understand), we figure out which parent is going to be the taxi for the day, we actually have to ...

She Turned 7!

SEVEN, she did it again... who does she think she is trying to get another year older on us. In all seriousness, she is SEVEN. Like, what happened to 5 and 6? Let me tell you what 7 looks like on my little Pripri... Just a few things about this girl 1. Guess who her favorite person is...duh. Micah 2. She is soooo much more compassionate and caring than I could have ever imagined. 3. She might be 7, however her attitude screams teen! She is sensitive but oh so brave and she is never afraid to take on new adventures! 4. Her best friend is still, you guessed it, Maggie. 5. Right now she is playing softball (second season) and is having a ton of fun. Cheerleading is still on her brain, but for now, we will stick with this. 6. When she laughs, you can't help but laugh with her. Her laugh alone will make you light up. 7. Her favorite things include: Unicorns, Bear (her pink one), Unicorns, Mermaids, those fake glasses (see pic below), her American Girl Doll (pic above), Uni...

The Big Apple

{deep breath}… We did it, we made it, and we are still alive to talk about it… We made it to and from New York City with our sanity in hand! Actually we got back on the 11th of October but it has taken me a few weeks to recover from the trip, I needed a little space between me and NYC, and now that I am feeling whole again I am ready to revisit our trip. When Matt and I were invited to my college teammates wedding in NYC there was NO WAY I was missing it. For one, she’s amazing and I was soooo pumped for her, and 2… it’s NYC! My only discrepancy was to take the kids or to leave them. Well when we asked my parents if they would be willing to take them while we were away, it turned into “sure we will watch them… in NYC!” So there it was the making of a weeklong family trip to the big apple. For those of you who know how type “A” I am, I am sure you could imagine how overwhelmed I became in thinking of all the things we were going to do while we visited, so when mom and dad said we...
