Lake Trip...Happy Thanks for Giving!

The Holiday season has begun and there is no shortage on family, food and lots of love! We took a trip to Lake Roosevelt 2 weeks ago with our good friends Ben and Sandra. It was sooooo nice to get outta town and be in the calm of Mother Nature herself. Ben, Matt and Micah got a chance to get out on the boat while Sandra, Kapri and I cought up on much needed laziness! The boys ALMOST cought a fish but needless to say Matt is still "O-ferr" on the fishing action! We had a great weekend; it was just in time to get ready for the holiday season!

This year Kris and Melissa joined us for Thanksgiving, bad part...they won't be here for Christmas :( With 2, yes 2 turkeys this year they weren’t the only ones stuffed. Dad made his famous stuffing and I think this year it was his best. It's soo fun to see the dinner table grow each year with new family members. Micah woke up Thanksgiving morning walking around the house saying "Happy Thanks for Giving" which I didn't correct. Although his words may be mixed up he couldn't be more correct in what he said. I am so grateful for all the giving that we have received and proud of what "giving" we have given.

Mom also threw Melissa a surprise birthday party while they were in town. We didn't get to share her actual birthday with her so we decided that she needed a proper "Machain" birthday.

Here are a few pics of the lake, Thanksgiving and Melissa's Birthday!

Hello & Goodbye to Sum•mer

sum·mer 1 ˈsəmər/ noun 1 .  the warmest season of the year, in the northern hemisphere from June to August and in the southern hemisphere from December to February. I just wanted to give myself a second to really think about this thing called summer. Anyone else think this definition is just a little bit vague? It's that time of year where we get all excited to have ZERO schedule, endless electronics, the chance to travel and cram in all of the fun you planned for all year long. Then when this so called "summer" ends, you feel bamboozled, like someone just waved that 4th of July pie you went to that party to specifically eat, right in front of your face only to look...not eat. Like seriously, it was here, right in front of my face, and now... it's gone. Now, now we pack lunch every night, we get our homework in (which I don't even understand), we figure out which parent is going to be the taxi for the day, we actually have to ...

She Turned 7!

SEVEN, she did it again... who does she think she is trying to get another year older on us. In all seriousness, she is SEVEN. Like, what happened to 5 and 6? Let me tell you what 7 looks like on my little Pripri... Just a few things about this girl 1. Guess who her favorite person is...duh. Micah 2. She is soooo much more compassionate and caring than I could have ever imagined. 3. She might be 7, however her attitude screams teen! She is sensitive but oh so brave and she is never afraid to take on new adventures! 4. Her best friend is still, you guessed it, Maggie. 5. Right now she is playing softball (second season) and is having a ton of fun. Cheerleading is still on her brain, but for now, we will stick with this. 6. When she laughs, you can't help but laugh with her. Her laugh alone will make you light up. 7. Her favorite things include: Unicorns, Bear (her pink one), Unicorns, Mermaids, those fake glasses (see pic below), her American Girl Doll (pic above), Uni...

The Big Apple

{deep breath}… We did it, we made it, and we are still alive to talk about it… We made it to and from New York City with our sanity in hand! Actually we got back on the 11th of October but it has taken me a few weeks to recover from the trip, I needed a little space between me and NYC, and now that I am feeling whole again I am ready to revisit our trip. When Matt and I were invited to my college teammates wedding in NYC there was NO WAY I was missing it. For one, she’s amazing and I was soooo pumped for her, and 2… it’s NYC! My only discrepancy was to take the kids or to leave them. Well when we asked my parents if they would be willing to take them while we were away, it turned into “sure we will watch them… in NYC!” So there it was the making of a weeklong family trip to the big apple. For those of you who know how type “A” I am, I am sure you could imagine how overwhelmed I became in thinking of all the things we were going to do while we visited, so when mom and dad said we...
