What a day...

Just had to share my day from yesterday...
Morning was great, minus the IPhone alarm clock that is named "Wake Up, Really Wake up and get your running shoes on"... really I named it that thinking that it would give me motivation. Seeing on how I run in the afternoon every day, I don't think it works, but I'll keep trying. every day. every morning. Sigh.

Work was short as I had 2 hitting lessons scheduled so I had to get home to get set up... then it started.

I saw at the office that the clouds were building in the general direction of my house, so I thought maybe there would be a chance that the lesson's would have to be canceled (I don't usually wish for this but I really wanted to spend the evening with the kids). The lighting and thunder was ridiculous! So I started to make my way and saw this...

Then it occurred to me "oh $#!T" I left the equipment out, so I put the medal to the pedal and raced home. (Don't worry Mom, I didn't break ANY traffic laws, and when I mean ANY I mean just a few). So as I am nearing my neighborhood I see a huge dark cloud of smoke, “come on, please don’t be a fire at my house”… Well the neighborhood adjacent to ours had a palm tree on fire due to a lightning strike... No picture, remember I am racing home at this point.

Just as I got home and opened the car door it started to down pour, so I raced inside out the back door to the batting cage and BAMB I tripped over the net and slid (like I was in college diving for a ball) about 4 feet, got up laughing at myself and looked around to see if anybody saw... stupid, as I was in my own backyard, instinct I guess. Got the equipment and ran it under the porch. May look small but I landed RIGHT on the bone and it frekin' hurts!

And to think I thought my athletic ability would save me in these situations.
 No Lessons.

The night gets better...

So after awhile of laughing at myself and surveying the damage I get over it start prepping for dinner and decide to get my run out of the way (see above statement regarding afternoon runs). Get back and knee starts to throb...ughhhh, oh well. So I call Matt to tell him I shaved some time off my run, and he tells me this... "Sorry I didn't answer your call, I was on the phone, we got David Letterman tickets!!" SAAAWWEEEEETTTT... We are headed for NYC next week and that was on my top 10 list of things to see...it's also on my bucket list!

Matt gets home with the kids, and I am super pumped cause I have the night off of lessons and I just want to hang and play! Dunn dunn dunnnnn, Micah walks in to give me the infamous "red card". His school's theme is sports right now, so apparently they are working on soccer, hence the "red card". I read it and it says he threw a rock at another child. REALLY! I thought "way to go buddy, now I don't get to play with you because you decided to screw it up and chuck a rock!" So, because of the card he doesn't get any toys, TV or anything that has to do with fun for the rest of the night. One kid down let’s see what Kapri has to offer.

We invited Jim and Jose over for dinner so Micah was acting up, as usual, showing off the weirdest things, does anybody else's kid act weird when other people come over? Anyway Dinner was good (of course, I made it) and then it was bath time.

Put both kids in the tub got em' all soaked ready to wash and then Kapri looked at me, rolled over, smiled and then I saw it... the tub water begin to turn a dark greenish color, and then came the floaty logs. "MATTTTTTTT, POOOP in the tub!!" (Micah had NEVER pooped in the tub so this was new to me). He runs over, looks at me, then at the kids, then at the tub, then at me... "DO something" I yelled at him, so he grabs the towel I lift Micah, who is gagging and ready to puke because of the poop "don't look at it buddy" Then I get Kapri who has a huge smile on her face. I hobble (my knee seems to have flared up with pain at this perfect time) with her and Micah over to our bathroom to get them in the shower.

Matt takes over and then I am left to deal with a green colored tub full of little logs floating around... I think I used over half a bottle of bleach to clean 4 toys and the tub. No picture neccessary.

Ughhhh, what a day. Here's to a less eventful day!

Sounds like one awesome day. Sebastian did the pooping in the tub thing a couple of days in a row this time last year, and on days when I was already at wit's end, too. And we were in a hotel, so the best I could do was clean it out with hotel shampoo. I was also by myself because we were on a business trip with Jay and he had some work thing to attend during both episodes. However, I just had a couple of floaties to deal with, not a bunch of green (EW.) It could be worse, though...I heard of one girl who pooped in the tub and her mom found out when her older sister said, "look, mom, a new toy!" and was playing with it.

I hope today was better!
whatta day!!!! Miss your family

Hello & Goodbye to Sum•mer

sum·mer 1 ˈsəmər/ noun 1 .  the warmest season of the year, in the northern hemisphere from June to August and in the southern hemisphere from December to February. I just wanted to give myself a second to really think about this thing called summer. Anyone else think this definition is just a little bit vague? It's that time of year where we get all excited to have ZERO schedule, endless electronics, the chance to travel and cram in all of the fun you planned for all year long. Then when this so called "summer" ends, you feel bamboozled, like someone just waved that 4th of July pie you went to that party to specifically eat, right in front of your face only to look...not eat. Like seriously, it was here, right in front of my face, and now... it's gone. Now, now we pack lunch every night, we get our homework in (which I don't even understand), we figure out which parent is going to be the taxi for the day, we actually have to ...

She Turned 7!

SEVEN, she did it again... who does she think she is trying to get another year older on us. In all seriousness, she is SEVEN. Like, what happened to 5 and 6? Let me tell you what 7 looks like on my little Pripri... Just a few things about this girl 1. Guess who her favorite person is...duh. Micah 2. She is soooo much more compassionate and caring than I could have ever imagined. 3. She might be 7, however her attitude screams teen! She is sensitive but oh so brave and she is never afraid to take on new adventures! 4. Her best friend is still, you guessed it, Maggie. 5. Right now she is playing softball (second season) and is having a ton of fun. Cheerleading is still on her brain, but for now, we will stick with this. 6. When she laughs, you can't help but laugh with her. Her laugh alone will make you light up. 7. Her favorite things include: Unicorns, Bear (her pink one), Unicorns, Mermaids, those fake glasses (see pic below), her American Girl Doll (pic above), Uni...

The Big Apple

{deep breath}… We did it, we made it, and we are still alive to talk about it… We made it to and from New York City with our sanity in hand! Actually we got back on the 11th of October but it has taken me a few weeks to recover from the trip, I needed a little space between me and NYC, and now that I am feeling whole again I am ready to revisit our trip. When Matt and I were invited to my college teammates wedding in NYC there was NO WAY I was missing it. For one, she’s amazing and I was soooo pumped for her, and 2… it’s NYC! My only discrepancy was to take the kids or to leave them. Well when we asked my parents if they would be willing to take them while we were away, it turned into “sure we will watch them… in NYC!” So there it was the making of a weeklong family trip to the big apple. For those of you who know how type “A” I am, I am sure you could imagine how overwhelmed I became in thinking of all the things we were going to do while we visited, so when mom and dad said we...
