S.I.X.

Micah! You are 6…S.I.X.! I can’t even stand it. I am having a hard time remembering the times I held you as a baby and I want so badly to stop time so that I can memorize those special moments.  I thought about your actual BIRTH day today and no matter how the years may pass I can still remember every step it took to get you here and the absolute joy you brought to Daddy and me. Here are 6 (I had to limit myself) things that make you “Micah” today…
1.       Your favorite thing to do…STILL… is to play ninjas with Daddy. So much that we have had to designate nights of the week because Daddy can’t handle getting beat up every night!
2.       The way you laugh hysterically out loud while watching a movie no matter where we are makes us want to be just as carefree as you are.
3.       Your favorite playmate is still Kapri, wherever you are, there she is.
4.       You are sensitive when it comes to feelings and a bit dramatic when you get hurt…but you in turn are sympathetic to those who are sad and help those who are hurt.
5.       YOU LOVE THE CAMERA. You love to be recorded and then watch yourself over and over and over again.
6.       You are becoming more adventurous with trying new foods, new activities and less timid of the unknown.
You have been one of the best blessings that we have received and we wish we could hit the pause button on you… but at the same time we are so excited to see what’s in store for you.

We love you Son.

We just got your school pics a few days ago, I still haven't stopped choking up every time I see it.

Hello & Goodbye to Sum•mer

sum·mer 1 ˈsəmər/ noun 1 .  the warmest season of the year, in the northern hemisphere from June to August and in the southern hemisphere from December to February. I just wanted to give myself a second to really think about this thing called summer. Anyone else think this definition is just a little bit vague? It's that time of year where we get all excited to have ZERO schedule, endless electronics, the chance to travel and cram in all of the fun you planned for all year long. Then when this so called "summer" ends, you feel bamboozled, like someone just waved that 4th of July pie you went to that party to specifically eat, right in front of your face only to look...not eat. Like seriously, it was here, right in front of my face, and now... it's gone. Now, now we pack lunch every night, we get our homework in (which I don't even understand), we figure out which parent is going to be the taxi for the day, we actually have to ...

She Turned 7!

SEVEN, she did it again... who does she think she is trying to get another year older on us. In all seriousness, she is SEVEN. Like, what happened to 5 and 6? Let me tell you what 7 looks like on my little Pripri... Just a few things about this girl 1. Guess who her favorite person is...duh. Micah 2. She is soooo much more compassionate and caring than I could have ever imagined. 3. She might be 7, however her attitude screams teen! She is sensitive but oh so brave and she is never afraid to take on new adventures! 4. Her best friend is still, you guessed it, Maggie. 5. Right now she is playing softball (second season) and is having a ton of fun. Cheerleading is still on her brain, but for now, we will stick with this. 6. When she laughs, you can't help but laugh with her. Her laugh alone will make you light up. 7. Her favorite things include: Unicorns, Bear (her pink one), Unicorns, Mermaids, those fake glasses (see pic below), her American Girl Doll (pic above), Uni...

The Big Apple

{deep breath}… We did it, we made it, and we are still alive to talk about it… We made it to and from New York City with our sanity in hand! Actually we got back on the 11th of October but it has taken me a few weeks to recover from the trip, I needed a little space between me and NYC, and now that I am feeling whole again I am ready to revisit our trip. When Matt and I were invited to my college teammates wedding in NYC there was NO WAY I was missing it. For one, she’s amazing and I was soooo pumped for her, and 2… it’s NYC! My only discrepancy was to take the kids or to leave them. Well when we asked my parents if they would be willing to take them while we were away, it turned into “sure we will watch them… in NYC!” So there it was the making of a weeklong family trip to the big apple. For those of you who know how type “A” I am, I am sure you could imagine how overwhelmed I became in thinking of all the things we were going to do while we visited, so when mom and dad said we...
